SUPPORT VOLUNTEER

The Mission of the Friends of Crossroads at Big Creek is to promote and assist with programs through gifts of time, talent and financial resources for the benefit of Crossroads at Big Creek Inc.

Join our mission and make a difference with the gift of your time and talent.

If you volunteer at Crossroads, you are a Friend of Crossroads.

Friends contribute their time and talent by hosting events, decorating for the seasons, helping create exhibits, painting, gardening, cleaning, planting trees, removing invasive species, helping with school groups and doing mailings. Friends organize and volunteer for the Ski-For-Free, and the Crossroads Trail Run.

Over the years, the group has contributed the funds to purchase many of the items that make Crossroads special—cross-country skis, perimeter plantings, handrails in the lecture hall, library materials, kitchen supplies, office equipment etc., and materials for exhibits.

Many members of Friends prefer to work on individual projects, and their help is also welcome. Those interested in volunteering should call (920) 746-5895.

Our Pollinator Pals

That's a cartload of weeds! A huge thanks to this week's Pollinator Pals crew for helping us remove the unwanted elements and plant the wanted ones in the Birds & Butterflies Pollinator Garden.

Become a Habitat Healer!

Our Habitat Healers program welcomes anyone, young or old … and we love families. Participate in our efforts to revitalize, restore, and improve habitat for the plant, animal, and human communities at Crossroads.

The Habitat Healers season runs from spring through fall on Saturday mornings from 9 – 11 a.m. Check the calendar on our website for specific dates, for last-minute weather cancellations, and for holiday schedules.

Meet at the workshop/nursery on the northeast end of Crossroads main parking lot at 2041 Michigan Street. Wear clothes and foot gear that can get dirty and wet. Water ottles, sunscreen and hats are a good idea. We provide training and any needed equipment and have gloves to fit all sizes, from tiny tots to larger adults. Tasks will be determined by need and the weather. Come for the entire two hours or just part of it.
