MS Assistantship in Creating Community-based Ecological Restoration Education Program

Position Overview

A graduate student will research and help craft a community-based ecological restoration education program at Crossroads at Big Creek. This will entail:

  • Exploration of the restoration culture and history in Door County through interviews with staff of Door County Soil and Water, the Door County Land Trust, The Ridges, etc., to determine needs.
  • Outreach to area landowners. This might include individual conversations, community forums, targeted surveys.
  • Conversations with Crossroads staff and board to determine scope, organizational capacity and to plan for incremental growth.
  • Documenting results and presenting recommended options for implementation. The assistantship will result in an Ecological Restoration Education Plan.

This project represents a collaboration between UW – Green Bay and Crossroads at Big Creek with funding from the 1923 Fund.
