Let’s Get Crafty: Fish Leather Making – Part 2
December 11 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Leather is all around us in our daily lives, but did you know that when you tan fish skin you can create a durable and strong leather? Join Titus Seilheimer, Fisheries Specialist with Wisconsin Sea Grant, for a hands-on learning experience.
In this two-part class we will spend a full day together (from 9 am-3 pm on Friday, December 4) preparing the skins and then starting the tanning process. After a week of self-directed steps (don’t worry, you won’t have to do much), we will gather together again (December 11) to complete the final steps and you will leave with your very own piece of tanned fish leather from a local fish species.
🎟️ Please prepare to get messy, but all other equipment and supplies are provided.
