Science Saturdays: Comet Chef

Immerse yourself in a weekly science topic with our naturalists. Get hands-on with experiments, activities, crafts and more with a different topic each week as we explore the “What? Where? When? Why? and How?” of the world around us.

It was cancelled last month due to weather, but comet chef returns in February. Learn about the “starry messengers”– comets– by attending this family-friendly demonstration, during which the Comet Chef will concoct a frigid comet model. Every family will get a souvenir chunk of a “kitchen comet” to take home and enjoy (until it sublimates).

Science Saturdays is a free, family-friendly program geared toward elementary ages. Depending on the topic and the weather, this program may be outdoors. Please dress for the weather.
