🌳🌲🌴 The feature-length documentary The Hidden Life of Trees (directed by Jörg Adolph and Jan Haft) is a 2020/2021 nature film that follows bestselling author and German forester Peter Wohlleben as he travels through old-growth forests and managed woodlands to show that trees are part of a massive, feeling social community.
Using striking time-lapse photography and micro-cinematography, the film displays how trees defend themselves against pests like bark beetles and share vital water and sugar through underground root systems.
