“SHELTER AND STORM At Home in the Driftless” Book Signing
May 8, 2025 @ 7:00 PM
SHELTER AND STORM invites readers to step into the Driftless Area’s untamed beauty and meditate on how we tend the earth in times of uncertainty, what we owe our neighbors, and ways we thrive in community. How do moments of ecological stewardship reveal the deeper threads of human connection? And how do we honor both the land that has shaped us for millennia and the lives of those who will inherit it from us?
“In this remarkable collection of essays, Tamara Dean conveys the depth of our connection to the natural world with careful research and gentle words, bringing the Driftless area of Wisconsin to life. Shelter and Storm is regional literature at its finest. These smoothly flowing essays reveal both the character of the author and the character of the land in equal measure.”
—Joan Maloof, author of Teaching the Trees: Lessons from the forest
You are invited to a presentation by Tamara Dean followed by a book signing. Novel Bay Booksellers will have copies of the book for sale onsite.
